Measure

Body image

Jump to data

Body image, or how adolescents perceive their bodies, is a significant aspect of their overall well-being. Negative body image can lead to mental health issues like depression and anxiety, as well as unhealthy behaviours like disordered eating. This measure assesses adolescents’ satisfaction with their body shape, highlighting the proportion who perceive themselves as too fat. Understanding the prevalence of negative body image can inform interventions aimed at promoting positive body image and healthy self-esteem.
